Amazing!

Our class went to Harrisburg to see the Capitol Building on Tuesday. We stood in the rotunda and looked up at the dome. It was amazing! We took a tour of the House, Senate, and the Supreme Court chambers. There was marble from Ireland in the Senate chamber, and the chandeliers in the Supreme Court weighed 4 tons! Isn’t that amazing? The lieutenant governor invited us into her office! I had a really good time.

This is my most recent poem.
The Scene I Watched and Explored
On Tuesday evening, getting ready for bed,
Something hits me in the head!
I turn around, and lo!
There’s my sister, saying, “Oh!”
“I’m sorry- I didn’t mean it!”
Cries Maggie, looking like she’d been bit.
Now Susanna comes into the room.
She says, “Why did I hear that boom?”
Maggie, standing by our bed,
Says calmly, “I hit Molly in the head.”
Susanna screams, and runs to tell Mom.
But, of course, she’s on www.kingofprussia. com!
“Mom, Maggie hit Molly in the head!”
Behind Susanna is Maggie, dragging our bed.
She’s terrified(wouldn’t you be?)
“Mom, will you really drop water balloons on me?”
Maggie is sad.
Mom is mad!
She says, “Now GET INTO BED!
Before I do drop water balloons on your head!”
I’m in bed- it was a busy day.
But, as always, Susanna had a lot to say!

I had so much fun this weekend! I went to a camp retreat on Friday. We had a campfire Friday night. In the morning, we guessed how many candies were in a jar. There were five jars of five different candies. I won one of them! We went for a hayride and baked and iced cookies. Then we went into some of the hay for candy.

Okay. Here’s the reason for that title. Actually, I’m dressed now, but today I’m going to a camp retreat, so I thought that it was Saturday. Furthermore, I woke up at 6:20- isn’t that amazing! (See Not Usual for Early Risers to see why!)

I Fell Down on My Roof
One day I was ice skating on the roof.
And the wind was so strong it blew me off-Poof!
I landed on the snow below.
When I got up, I said,”Whoa!”
Then I said,”Maybe I made a goof
To think that I could ice skate on my roof.”

Over the weekend, I had a lot of fun. On Saturday, we went to a Ron Paul rally. My mom got interviewed by some people from Comcast. My sister Lucy was there with her, and she was smiling! I thought she would cry, but she didn’t.
Sunday was my mom’s birthday. We went to our school’s open house. I met a lot of new kids. After that, I went to choir. We were in the new music room for the first time!
My Interests

I like to do many things. Reading is one of them. I know that I read a lot. In fact, my sister Maggie has complained more then once that “She never plays with us because she loves books better!” But reading isn’t my only interest. I like writing stories, which is one of the reasons I made this blog.
In school, my favorite subjects are spelling and history. Learning words and how to spell them is fun. As you can see, I have many interests.

I just got a great idea! Two of the people who wrote me comments suggested that I write poems. So every Wednesday, I’ll submit a poem. Here’s one I wrote in 1st grade:
Not a Guppy But a Puppy
I’d love to have a puppy. I would call her Muffy.
She would eat my ice cream cone and she would be all fluffy.
Golden in color she would be,
And she would run in the park with me.
And she would rest underneath the trees,
And I would pet her on my knees.
At night she would cuddle up with me,
And we would both dream happily
Of magical fairies in the trees
Who helped us make friends with the bees.

Can you guess how many things happened over the weekend? I’ll just give you the number: 2 things on Saturday, 4 on Sunday. Okay, maybe not a lot, but overwhelming! Boy, am I glad that I did my homework at school!!
Now I’ll tell you what actually happened. On Saturday, I got my picture taken, and later I went shopping with my friend Dina. On Sunday, I went to church, had lunch at church (our church had just completed a new building, so it was a dedication service and lunch,) went to my friend Annika’s house, and went to choir.
