The Worst Part of My Christmas Vacation

In other words, I had stomach flu. It only lasted for a day, though (thankfully!) It was the day after Jammie Day. We woke up to Maggie’s radio’s alarm, and I started feeling sick. (I had thought that the alarm made me feel sick!) Well, you know what happened next. I was over it by 5:00 p.m. My nose was still clogged up on and off until January 2.

Jammie Day

In our family, we set a day aside after Christmas to relax in our pajamas and play with our new toys.  I made lots of cards with my card kit. (Later, I used them for thank-you notes.)  We played a game that our Nana and Pap-pap had given us, Coo-coo the Rocking Clown.  You try to balance as many wooden cylinders as you can on Coo-coo’s arms, feet, and head without making Coo-coo fall over.

Christmas

As soon as it was 6:00, my sisters and I raced downstairs to open our stockings.  We got lots of presents, including toothbrushes, pens, pencils, and so on.  Our parents came down at 8:00, and we had breakfast at 8:30.  It was cinnamon rolls.  Then we went to open presents under the tree.  I can’t tell you everything I got, because it would take too long, but some of my favorites were a scooter, outfit, and a kit for making cards.  That afternoon, we went to our grandparents’ house.  My favorite present there was a watch.

My Nana and Pap-pap came over at 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve.  We talked for a while, then we opened our presents.  We got lots of wonderful presents.  Then we had dinner.  My mom usually uses paper napkins folded in rectangles for the table, but this time she used linen napkins folded in triangles.  I had a great Christmas Eve.

Holiday News

I had so much fun over the holidays. I’ll start at the beginning, otherwise known as December 21. Our school does a Christmas program every year. Each class is divided into usually two parts, and each part recites a passage from the Bible. The school choir, which I am in, sings some songs, too.

Each day, I’ll tell you about one day that was important for me over the holidays. It’ll make them last longer.
