My First Choir Meeting

On Sunday, I went to Daughters of Zion. It’s a choir at church. I had lots of fun there. My sister is ringing on my left side, and my friend Sarah is two places away in my right side. Even more friends will be coming next Sunday, I hope. My dad told their parents about the program. It’s a great way to show others how we honor Jesus with music.
Busy Weekend
September 12, 2008 at 9:29 pm | In interests, weekends | 1 CommentThis weekend, we have a lot to do. My mom is going to visit a friend. And my sister is attending a birthday party. After the party, we are going to my dad’s business partner’s Crab Fest. We won’t be back until bedtime!
On Sunday, we have our first choir meeting at church. My sister and friend will be in it with me this year.

I mentioned in a previous post that homework is not that hard. Well, now it is! We got our new science books today. We have a science test tomorrow, also. I have also started an essay for a nationwide competion, and soon I will be writing a poem for a nationwide competition. I am excited that the school year has started, but I wish that there weren’t quite so many assignments yet!
Big News-Hermit Crab Pinches Maggie!
September 8, 2008 at 9:43 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsMy sisters Maggie and Susanna and I keep hermit crabs. Today, Maggie’s crab pinched her! She was holding it, and the crab got nervous and pinched her. At first, I thought that the crab poked her really hard when it walked. But then, Maggie yelled, “She pinched me!” I ran to tell my mom. When I walked back, Maggie was screaming-really hard. My mom and dad rinsed her hand with cold water, and then my dad comforted her. I got really scared. I thought the crab made her bleed! But it didn’t, and the bruise is all right now.
Re: Camp Sankanac Essay
September 7, 2008 at 3:43 pm | In school | 3 CommentsIn my last post, I posted a rough draft of an essay that I am writing for school. I am now going to write a post from the Christian point of view on that subject.
Jesus Christ came into my heart when I was four years old. I did not understand what that meant then, but I do now. And camp helped me realize what it meant. During camp, my counselors and two very special missionaries helped to bring me closer to Jesus. I now have a very close relationship with him, and I thank them for it. I strongly believe that Jesus worked in my heart that week and brought me closer to him. I had a great time at camp, but the best part was what I just explained.
Camp Sankanac Essay: My First Big School Assignment

I had lots of fun at Camp Sankanac during the summer.
Our church has a memory program. If you memorize all the passages from the Bible that they choose, then the reward is that they send you to camp. Two friends and I memorized all the passages. We encouraged each other, and we reached our goal together! Our church sent us to Camp Sankanac. We were all in the same cabin. We had no idea what was going to happen that week, but we were excited to be together.
I had boating classes during the week. One memorable boating class was when I fell into the creek. The funny thing was, I didn’t fall out of the boat! I was just standing on the landing dock, which goes diagonally down into the water and is very slippery. I was standing on it one day with my counselor and two girls from my cabin. I took my shoes off to see if I could stand, and I couldn’t. My shorts got wet, and my face turned red. I think it is funny now, but I wonder why I was so foolish as to take my shoes off when I knew it was slippery! I realized that even though something can be very humiliating, and you think you’ll lose all your friends, you will actually have a stronger friendship than before.
At Camp Sankanac, I learned a lot, and I am definitely going again next year!

First of all, I am very sorry that I have not been writing.
School started on Wednesday for me. Homework is piling up rapidly already, though we don’t have science homework yet, because the books ordered have not come . I am very happy to be back with all my friends again. 4th grade is harder than I thought it would be, but my teachers are all pretty nice. I am enjoying this school year and will write again next week on that subject.
