A Christmas Party
December 21, 2008 at 12:31 pm | In weekends | Leave a CommentLast night, my family and I went to the annual Christmas party hosted by different aunts of my dad. (They rotate every year.) This year, my great-aunt Cindy hosted it. She borrowed the Fellowship Hall of a church to host it in. It was lots of fun! At every table, there was a green dot on one chair. If you were sitting on that chair, then you got the centerpiece. It was filled with goodies! Susanna won it at our table. You could also guess the number of M&M’s in a jar. My mom won the jar-she guessed 264 and there were 263 M&M’s in the jar! Each one of us got homemade pajamas from our great- grandma , a red shiny shirt and black pants striped with thin white lines from Aunt Jul and Uncle Dale, and a treasure box from Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dick. We went to bed around 10:00.
At Grammie and Grandad’s house
December 20, 2008 at 7:55 pm | In weekends | 2 CommentsOn Friday, December19,I went to my grandparents’ house in West Chester. You see, every year my cousin, Payton, and I go there for our “special day.” We sleep over and go somewhere special. This year, we went to Longwood Gardens. We went to a sing-along, and then we went to a cafe in Longwood Gardens. After that, we walked through the Christmas Route in the conservatory. Next, we admired the many cool fountains and designs in the Children’s Garden, and, okay, I admit it, we got a little bit wet. Just a little bit, though. Then, of course, we had to go see the leaping fountains. They were my favorite part. We ran over to them.
But there was a surprise waiting for us there! A guy asked my grandmother to take a few pictures of him and his girlfriend. She did, then he asked her to take a few more. He reached inside his coat pocket, knelt down, and proposed to her! She said yes. Later, we saw them. They were calling everybodyon their cell phones.
The fountains were really pretty. They were white for a while, then they turned different colors like pink, orange, blue, and green. At the end, the center one leaped up really high! We watched two shows, each about 5 minutes long.
My cousin wanted French toast for breakfast, and I wanted pancakes. When we were watching the fountains, she didn’t believe me when I said,” They’re gonna change colors!”, so she was kidding around, like ” If they don’t change, we’re having French toast!” (We ended up having pancakes!)
We went to bed at 9:45. We woke up at 6:58 and went downstairs to watch TV. Then we had breakfast- chocolate chip pancakes! I watched my cousin play on the computer for a while. Next we had lunch, and left. We made our stuffed animals wave at people passing by on the way to drop Payton off. Finally, my grandmother dropped me off. I can’t wait to go again next year!
Thanks, Grammie and Grandad, for having me over. I loved it.
