My friend’s dad owns a pizza restaurant. We tried it out today for the first time. It is called Flippin’ Pizza. We used to get pizza from TDAlfredo’s but my mom wants pizza delivered from Flippin’ Pizza now. Actually the pizza is pretty good.I liked the restaurant. The people that work there are very nice.
Totally and Completely Healed
May 31, 2009 at 12:46 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsOn Saturday I played in a softball game…which means my foot is better. In fact, that means it is completely healed, because it didn’t hurt after the game. I’m back into “any pair of shoes I want to wear” mode and “I can play (almost) anything I want” mode. (The almost is because of rules by my parents, not because of my foot.)
Anyway, the game went well. We beat them (the Yankees) and we 6-runned them 3 times. When you 6-run a team, you get 6 runs before they get 3 outs. We are still undefeated!
On Wednesday we start kid pitch (finally). My coach wants me and 3 other girls to pitch during the last 3 games. I won’t be able to go to one of the games but the other two I can go to if I don’t injure myself again. Hopefully I won’t!
St. Sophia’s Greek Festival

Last night I went to a festival near my dad’s work. It was on the lawn of the church of St. Sophia. There were many nerve-racking rides. I rode on three-the Hanglider, the Sizzler, and the Sidestitcher. The Sidestitcher was very intimidating. It was sort of scary. I closed my eyes while riding on the Hanglider, but it was fun. Last night it was chilly. We ate dinner inside the church. They had many Greek foods there. I chose Gyro (HY-rro, almost like “hero”) Sandwich out of all the new choices of food. It was lamb, tomatoes, and a sauce like Ranch dressing wrapped inside a pita. It was very good. Then Maggie persauded my mom to buy some cotton candy. My dad offered all sorts of negative commentary about it, then discovered how good it was and ate half the bag. In fact when we got home he asked if we needed him to finish off the rest. However, we had finished it in the car.
Standardized Tests
May 27, 2009 at 9:09 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentYes, I know that this is boring. But anyway, today we had standardized testing, which at my level is easy.
Like, for math this was one of my problems : How many odd numbers are in this box? 3, 11, 6, 32, 13. AND it had multiple choice!! (I’m in pre-algebra here!)
Well, I guess it was ok.. but I was HUNGRY after a while. After all, we only stopped 3 minutes before lunch! And I was bored.
This is totally off subject but anyway my foot is getting better. I can walk without crutches now, which is good.
Speech Day

Some of my friends and family on here may know that this is a little late for this post to be published. Speech Day was last Thursday, May 21, Zander’s birthday. It is a school event that displays what the pupils have learned during the year. My class recited part of the Declaration of Independence (up to “let facts be submitted to a candid world,” the part before the things that the King of Britain did wrong) and “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. After all the grades had performed something that showed what they studied during the year, awards for exams were presented. Surprisingly, I got a gold medal for my Mythology exam and and a silver medal for my Latin I exam. I took these in February.
Of course, after that, we had refreshments, which just so happened to be make-your-own ice cream sundaes. Yum! As my friends and I talked about the exciting day,I knew I would remember this Speech Day for the rest of my life (for more than one reason; Zander, remember?).

A Glimpse of My Softball Future
May 24, 2009 at 10:42 pm | In interests | Leave a CommentToday me and my dad watched a Minor league game. I’m in Clinic, which is something that you might call the level underneath Minors. In Clinic we don’t score; there are no steals, there are no slides, and the coaches pitch. (Needless to say, that is BORING!) Anyway, the Orioles (Dina plays on them and her dad coaches them) and the A’s (some of my other friends substituted for missing players on that team) were playing each other. I was supposed to fill in for a missing player on the A’s but as you all know, my foot prevented me.
The game was intense. There were many steals to home-even some home runs. It was impressive. The fielding was also interesting to watch, especially the pitcher and catcher’s throws and catches. Since I’ll be playing on the Minors next year, I really was concentrating on the game. There were some very good hits. My one friend who substituted for another missing player on the A’s told me afterwards that she didn’t like it because it was very confusing. This could very well be true of the Minors league, but I, for one, am definitely looking forward to next year’s baseball season, when I’ll move up a level and be introduced to some new concepts.
Surrounded by Girls!
May 23, 2009 at 1:59 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI have a new cousin! He is, so far, the only boy cousin of mine. Will he not like being surrounded by girls? Nah. He’s younger than any of us, right? And by my logic, he’ll take any kind of attention he can get.
Down to facts…Zander, my cousin (yes, that’s his actual name, not a nickname!), was born on May 21, at 6:22 am. (Same time Susanna was born… and see the similarity in the names? Her nickname is Zannie.)
My Foot
May 23, 2009 at 1:52 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentNow my days of bragging that I’ve never been to the emergency room are over. That’s because on Friday, May 15, I was playing on the slide, and, stupid me, I jumped off it. ( I was wearing flip-flops, which my dad says are only good at the pool or the beach. I’ve learned my lesson-particularly because that’s the same thing that one of the nurses said. Oh well, “I told you so”’s are bound to happen in life.) So anyway, it was the day of Maggie’s birthday party, and she had friends over. It’s embarrassing to let little kids see you cry, but even worse to find out you’re going to the Emergency Room after all the guests leave! (Remember my “claim to fame”?) When I got there, everyone was nice-I got heated blankets in a little room and stuff like that, but boy, was I ever scared! However, I evaded crutches and went home with a sprained foot. (NOT my ankle; please don’t share sympathy with my sprained ankle.) Well, maybe I didn’t TOTALLY evade crutches. I played in a softball game on Wednesday of this week and pushed my foot a little too hard. I have to start over again with the healing because on Thursday my foot was throbbing, and it HURT. So on Friday I got to miss school to get crutches. They’re actually not that bad. When I walk, it feels like swinging between two desks (you must have done that SOMETIME, right?). I am healing fast now and hope to be pitching in my next Saturday game after today.
