There’s a reason for that title. Honestly, I mean it!
Today it was just my mom and me at church. That was awesome, but that’s not really my subject. That means…tadadada…everyone else was home sick (except my dad, of course. He was watching my sisters.). I mean that they were at home being sick, not that they were homesick. Just so that’s clear.
Lena has had a fever and has been out of school since Wednesday. Susanna just got a fever yesterday, and Lucy had a bad cold this morning. Normally Lucy would be going to church, but hey, there’s two others home, just leave her here, right? My poor dad.

Today is my first day in a new Sunday school class!! I am going into the 5th and 6th grade class at my church. It’ll be different from my 3rd and 4th grade class, of course. Ooops…I have to go to church now. I better go.
back from camp

I am back! And I am just chillin’ for the rest of summer vacation, so I am going to keep blogging from now on. I had lots of fun at camp! Being out in nature was great, and so was the food. I was having so much fun there,but I was definitely ready to come home and take a good long shower. Lots of my friends were there, though, and that was good.
I earned my Cardinal Rank and won the weekly Sword Drill this year. I got a pencil caddy for winning the Sword Drill.
My four electives were Archery, Bible, Drama, and Boating. I passed them all. I got ice cream every day and got a root beer float on Friday. I saw lots of old friends and new friends during my electives.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Yay! Fun! Fun! Fun!
Yes, I just got back from VBS, or as Lucy fondly calls it, BBS. It is fun, but it is also like jampacking all subjects from one school day into 3 hours! Yikes! My team, the Red Trekkers, is in 1st place for points. Sports is my favorite part of the day. Yesterday we played kickball (boys vs. girls) and got clobbered, but today we played dodgeball with mixed teams. However today we ran out of time, so it was a stalemate. I believe I was the only surviving girl on our team when the game ended, but I can’t be sure. I LOVE DODGEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had SO MUCH FUN today!!!!!!!!!! Did you have fun Payton? I absolutely LOVE BBS! (Ooops, I hear Lucy say it so much that I called it that! LOL!)

From Monday to Friday next week, my family will be going to VBS at our church. I love our theme this year: Upward Bound. It is like a hiking theme. We’ve had an Olympics theme, an undersea theme, and another theme that I can’t remember. So anyway, my cousins are going too, and so is my friend Sarah, and my friends Annika and Chloe will be there. My friend Anna Beth is helping out with Lucy’s class, my aunt is helping with the arts and crafts part of our day, and my mom is just helping out wherever she is needed. Oh,and also Annika’s mom is teaching our class, and our regular Sunday school teacher is helping her. I’ll see a lot of people that I know. (Fifteen, because I know myself and am counting myself!) I am really happy that we can go this year, because normally we have our beach vacation at the same time as VBS. But this year we got lucky.I don’t remember too much about it, only that it is from 9 to 12 and that I LOVE it! Maggie isn’t so enthusiastic. I just can’t wait till I pass 7th grade, so I can help out with the classes instead of being taught.
Church Lunch

On the third Sunday of each month, our church serves lunch. They are hosted by different ministries in the church. The food is different every time. Last time it was the Japanese ministry. We had Japanese food.It was good, but not so good as today’s. Today’s was hosted by the Men’s Ministry. My dad helped serve. It was called “Beef and (Root) Beer.” It was really good. It was funny to see my dad in a bow tie!! (I’ve never seen him in one before.) I can’t wait for our next lunch.
My First Choir Meeting

On Sunday, I went to Daughters of Zion. It’s a choir at church. I had lots of fun there. My sister is ringing on my left side, and my friend Sarah is two places away in my right side. Even more friends will be coming next Sunday, I hope. My dad told their parents about the program. It’s a great way to show others how we honor Jesus with music.
