My friend and I are going to teach a jewelry class for kids. I know what you’re thinking: we’re only kids. How can we teach a class? Well, we are. We both love to bead. I can’t wait!
Well, I gotta go now.
Bead Fest

The fest was lots of fun! I got a pair of earrings (genuine stones-they are parodox, I think!), a bracelet, and a necklace, all for less than $10. Annika and I love to shop together and this was a perfect oppurtunity to do just that! The fest was basically a huge store to buy beading supplies and already-made jewelry. Since Annika is a beader, she bought some beading supplies, and got the same jewelry as me so that we could match each other. We had lots of fun browsing the gazillion displays of every kind of bead and type of jewelry imaginable. Annika’s mom bought some pairs of very pretty earrings for herself, also some rings. Annika and I helped her pick some. We also commented on all the beautiful earrings and even said what we thought would look good on each other. Thank you so much for taking me, Annika!

Annika, Annika’s mom, and me are going to a bead fest!! AAAH! It’s gonna be so much fun!! (Annika is a very good friend of mine from my church.)
Anyway, I don’t know much about it, except that it’s on Saturday, and I am guessing you can make a lot of necklaces and such while you are there. You see, Lena had a beading b-day party, and someone who worked for a beading magazine for kids came, and, basically, walked us through the process of beading. Annika heard about Lena’s party and wanted the same person to bead at her birthday party. Personally, I thought Lena’s party was a little “kiddie-ish”, but it seems like Annika had a blast during her party. Miss G., the expert, gave her 2 passes to this bead fest I’m talking about, so she could take a friend along. She had 2 candidates- me and one of her other friends-but I think the other girl couldn’t come. So her mom is taking us, and I’m sure we’ll have a blast!!
plans

Lots of things to do today! First, my sisters and my mom went to Sarah’s house for dancing lessons. I stayed home with my dad and walked the dog, practiced piano, did my math, etc. Now I am typing this blogpost. But today will be busy. I might as well tell you what I am going to do.
At 11:00, my dad will take my to the dayroom (see the page “Helping Out” for more info. on that ) to help out. There is a new rule there that you have to be 10 to volunteer, but since I volunteered last year, I can help anyway. I like helping- it is fun, plus the volunteers eat the meals after everyone else has been fed-and boy, are they good.
Well, today my friend Annika and I are going to hang out together. We will make strawberry shortcake (by ourselves) for dessert tonight. I haven’t seen her for a long time, so this will be fun.
I will describe how these things went another day.
A Glimpse of My Softball Future
May 24, 2009 at 10:42 pm | In interests | Leave a CommentToday me and my dad watched a Minor league game. I’m in Clinic, which is something that you might call the level underneath Minors. In Clinic we don’t score; there are no steals, there are no slides, and the coaches pitch. (Needless to say, that is BORING!) Anyway, the Orioles (Dina plays on them and her dad coaches them) and the A’s (some of my other friends substituted for missing players on that team) were playing each other. I was supposed to fill in for a missing player on the A’s but as you all know, my foot prevented me.
The game was intense. There were many steals to home-even some home runs. It was impressive. The fielding was also interesting to watch, especially the pitcher and catcher’s throws and catches. Since I’ll be playing on the Minors next year, I really was concentrating on the game. There were some very good hits. My one friend who substituted for another missing player on the A’s told me afterwards that she didn’t like it because it was very confusing. This could very well be true of the Minors league, but I, for one, am definitely looking forward to next year’s baseball season, when I’ll move up a level and be introduced to some new concepts.
Musical

For kids in our family’s birthdays, we perform a play or musical for our relatives. But we hadn’t been doing that for the past couple of birthdays. So I decided to write a musical. It is my biggest one written yet! (I write the scripts and songs.) We will perform it for Susanna’s birthday party. This year, we have some friends playing some parts. Usually our cousins play parts too, and they will be in this one too. My sister Maggie is the star. We now have costumes and props. Other years we did not have costumes and had very little/not very good props. I started this about 2 or 3 years ago. It is fun to see how much better we get! We have actually written many in the past years but did not carry them out. The musical is called “Unexpected.” I will not give you too much detail because some of you who read it will see the musical. It is about a girl who gets lost while on a shopping trip with her family and how she finds them again. It has many characters and some of us play more than one part. I am very excited for it!

On Sunday, we have our first choir meeting at church. My sister and friend will be in it with me this year.
Two Outs

In my last entry, I told you about how much I love softball. This time, I’m going to tell you about my latest game.
It was the 5th inning, and my team was on the field. I was playing third base. The first batter up for the other team struck out. The next batter hit the ball, which was on the ground, right to me. Out! The next batter did the same thing. Out! I got the two outs when the ball was hit, and the other one was a strike out!
I Love Softball

I play softball, and I love it! I’ve improved my throwing and catching so much, and it’s great just to be out on the field and playing the game. I have so much fun. My dad is one of my coaches. If you were to ask me if I like batting or fielding better, I probably couldn’t choose. I like to bat, but fielding is exciting too.
